Your registration packet, name badge and course tickets will be available on-site at the EastWest registration desk.  All course handouts and evaluations will be available online before the conference. Please print only what you need and bring to EastWest with you.

What is the poster session?

One hour of CE will be available for doctors viewing the Posters Friday from 11:30 a.m until 1:30 when the authors are present.

What is the Friday night party?

The exclusive Friday Night Party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame  is optometry’s social event of the year. Live entertainment by Bad Habits and Remember Then, dancing, hors d’oeuvres and admission to all the Rock halls exhibits are included. The registration fee includes an admission. Additional tickets are $59 each. Attire is casual.

What are sponsored events?

Sponsored events are non-CE breakfast or lunch seminars sponsored by a company/vendor. Sponsored events are included with the registration fee; however, since space is limited you must pre-register on the registration form for the events you wish to attend.

Are there shuttle busses from the hotels to the Cleveland Convention Center?

Daily Buses are not provided.

A shuttle bus  will provide transportation between the EastWest preferred hotels and the Friday Night Party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 18th.

What courses can students enroll?

Students are welcome to enroll in OD or AEP courses. However, because of limited space, students cannot enroll in workshops.

I am an Optician or Optometric Staff Member Registrant. Can I take an OD course?

There are some OD courses that are also available to Opticians and Optometric Staff Member registrants. If you are an Opticians or an Optometric Staff Member and choose to enroll in an OD course, you must pay the OD price of $30 per credit hour. Please contact Jordan Quickel at 800-999-4939 to be added to an OD course.

What is the cost per credit hour of CE?

OD CE – $30 per credit hour

Opticians (OPT) CE – $20 per credit hour

Optometric Staff Member (OSM) CE – $20 per credit hour

What is the definition of Optometry Student and Resident?

An optometric student is defined as an individual currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year optometric program at an Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) approved school or college of optometry.

An optometric resident is defined as an OD participating in a planned program of post-O.D. clinical education that lasts a minimum of twelve months and must be composed of appropriately supervised clinical eye/vision care provided by the resident in one of the following areas:

  •   Family Practice Optometry
  •   Primary Eye Care
  •   Cornea and Contact Lenses
  •   Geriatric Optometry
  •   Pediatric Optometry
  •   Low Vision Rehabilitation
  •   Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation
  •   Ocular Disease
  •   Refractive and Ocular Surgery
  •   Community Health Optometry
  •   Brian Injury Vision Rehabilitation
