318 – Pre-Screening

Many doctors utilize staff to start the eye exam to help with efficiency.  This Pre-testing workshop will review the common tests that staff perform to assist in an optometric or ophthalmologic clinic.  This lecture/work-shop will quickly review History Taking, Visual acuity, Auto-lensometry, Manual lensometry, auto-refraction, and some intraocular pressures.  We will summarize a good history and how to document Visual Acuity properly.  We will review basic optics and a glasses prescription so one can use various lensometers to document a patient’s current spec Rx.  This class will quickly discuss other tests such as auto-refraction, visual fields, OCTs, and technician friendly IOP instruments.
