Danielle J. Orr, OD, MS, FAAO is an Assistant Clinical Professor at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She earned her doctor of optometry degree in 2017 from the same institution, along with a concurrent MS degree in Vision Science. Her Master’s project explored the connection between time outdoors and ipRGC-targeted pupil responses in myopes and nonmyopes. Dr. Orr completed a residency in Primary Vision Care and Ocular Disease from the Columbus VAACC and Chillicothe VA Medical Centers in 2018. Dr. Orr pursued her passion for education and began her career at The OSU College of Optometry in 2018, attending in the Primary Vision Care and Advanced Ocular Care Clinics. In a commitment to lifelong learning and optometric practice, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2019. Dr. Orr was an examiner for the NEI-funded Bifocal Lenses in Nearsighted Kids (BLINK Study) from 2018 to 2024 and served on writing committees. Dr. Orr is the Chief of the Advanced Ocular Care Clinic, overseeing instruction of third year interns in this service and striving to offer the best care in ocular disease. Dr. Orr is the instructor of record for the Advanced Ocular Care Techniques laboratory course, where she teaches techniques such as gonioscopy, scleral depression and dilation and irrigation to second-year optometry students. She is the advisor for the undergraduate student organization, Eyes On Health, which provides community service experiences for OSU students bound for careers in the health sciences. Dr. Orr has a passion for volunteer work, and regularly gives her time and expertise with organizations that provide eye examinations and glasses to disadvantaged populations.
