Dr. Carl Spear completed his undergraduate education at Western Kentucky University and is a 1991 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Optometry at Birmingham. Additionally, Dr. Spear completed a Residency in Primary Care Optometry/Ocular Disease at Northeastern State University College of Optometry, in Tahlequah Oklahoma and a Master’s in Business Administration at Auburn University. In addition to his career in eye care, Dr. Spear retired from the United States Armed Forces with 39 years of service (24 Army and 13 Air Force) in 2022
Dr. Spear was the founder and owner/operator of both Sight and Sun Eyeworks and Panhandle Vision Institute. He sold the seven location, vertically integrated, practices in 2016.
